Why should I hire a commercial real estate broker?
I have a space to rent and was wondering why I should hire a broker? I was planning to just put a for rent sign in the window. Will that not work?

Ingrid, you may be disadvantaged by doing this, especially if your tenant-to-be has professional representation. I've seen many owners attempt this and end up with poorly vetted tenants, poorly written leases and ultimately, their asset devalued. You won't save time or money by DIY when it comes to commercial tenancies. Interview a few landlord reps about the value they bring to leasing. It may be very revealing.
