How do I contact the owner of an unlisted property?

I have a property that I am interested in but I don't know who owns it. The building has tenants but I don't want to tip off the tenants. Does anyone know a good way to find the property owner?

I would check to see if you county assessor has a GIS application on their website. Most modern counties will have a map with property owner information overlayed. If your county doesn't have that you may need to call or visit the assessor's office.
