Is a CIE the same thing as a MLS?

Just wondering if these are the same thing or not.

They are basically the same thing. A Commercial Information Exchange (CIE) is like a Multiple Listing Service (MLS) but it is built specifically for commercial real estate.

An important difference between a CIE and an MLS is that the MLS requires compensation guarantees to it's members as a condition of publishing on the MLS where CIE leaves commissions and compensation as negotiable during the course of completing a transaction.
